In 1985, television watchers saw a slightly different Carvel commercial. A small boy sang a Father's Day song incorporating Carvel's delicious ice cream cakes as a great gift for dad.
The singing-boy commercial seemed to have been such a great hit that in 1986 Carvel tried a couple new jingles. They first used a female voice to describe Carvel's mission to make America's fullest and freshest ice cream.
In 1986, a new advertisement campaign for Carvel appeared on the nation's television screens. Instead of a message direct from gravelly-voiced Tom Carvel himself, a group of smooth toned singers sang about Carvel's gauranteed fresh-made ice cream.
