How long is a Carvel ice cream cake good for in my freezer?

Hamilton Mill Carvel ice cream cakes are made fresh everyday. The quality of all brands of ice cream stored in your home is dependent on the design of your home freezer. Over time, ice crystals form in ice cream which diminish the smooth texture and delicate flavors we all enjoy in ice cream products. While ice crystals are not harmful, we recommend you enjoy your Carvel ice cream cake within 7 days of purchase to ensure the highest quality in our products.

Can I get a Carvel ice cream cake custom made?

Yes, Carvel cakes can be custom ordered to your specifications usually with 24-48 hours using any flavor accessible in our dipping cabinet. We also have a wide selection of 3D moulds and all of our cakes may be inscribed and decorated with a popular theme or photo image. Our display cases are always stocked with a variety of our most popular cakes.

Can I have a Carvel cake delivered?

We currently only offer delivery for special planned events. For more information on catering, please contact us by phone.

How much time do I need to place a special order for a Carvel ice cream cake?

We typically require at least 48 hours advance notice on special orders to ensure that we have all necessary ingredients and supplies to prepare the cake for each customer.

Does Carvel make wedding cakes?

As with our other custom made cakes we require advance notice. For inquiries on sizes, styles and prices please contact us directly at the store or you may call by phone.

Where can I purchase Carvel gift certificates?

Gift certificates are available for purchase right now in the Hamilton Mill location! On any of your visits to our store, simply ask the cashier about purchasing a gift card.

Is it possible to tour a Carvel store or facility?

Public tours of our Production Facilities are not openly available for sanitary and quality reasons. If you would like a personal tour of the Hamilton Mill Carvel shop you should arrange a visit through the store owner or manager in advance.

Where can I purchase your famous Fudgie the Whale®, Hug Me the Bear® or Cookie Puss® cakes?

These classic characters continue to spark a fond memory for many people familiar with Carvel. While the classic vanilla/chocolate combination cake can always be found in our display cases, we will be happy to customize your favorite character with two of your favorite flavors.

Ingredient Information

Aspartame?

Aspartame is only found in our no sugar added flavors.

Alcohol in Products?

All of the flavors added to our ice cream mixes contain alcohol. Alcohol is a common carrier for flavors and in the finished product is a very low level. The processing of our ice cream causes most of the alcohol to dissipate but we cannot guarantee that our products do not contain alcohol. However, please note that we have reformulated our flavorings to meet 100% Muslim standards in those countries in which we operate outside the U.S.

Allergens?

Our products can contain traces of nuts, as well as egg, wheat, soy, and milk products. The egg and milk products are in our ice cream mix and the wheat and soy products are in our crunchies as well as other products.

Animal Products?

The only animal products are milk and eggs. The mono and diglycerides are derived from soy, not from an animal source.

Corn Syrup?

There is no high fructose in the corn syrup in our mix.

Eggs?

Our vanilla ice cream contains egg yolks.

Gluten?

      Most of our ice creams are gluten-free. However, the chocolate crunchies that are found in our ice cream cakes and the sprinkles put on top are not gluten-free. If you contact us, we will be more then happy to substitute the crunchies for something else, such as fudge. We will also be more then happy to not put any sprinkles on the cake. Guar Gum?

Guar Gum is derived from a bean. It has the same qualities as corn starch but about 10 times as powerful.

Milk Products?

The milk found in our products is in a liquid form. The no fat and no sugar ice creams have added skim milk and our regular mixes have milk and cream. Unfortunately all of our mixes contain milk products, except for our sorbet ice products. The sorbet ice and sorbet swirls products are similar to Italian Ice, but with a creamier texture and they are non-dairy.

Pasteurized Milk?

We do use pasteurized milk, which is put through a process called UHT (Ultra High Temperature or Ultra High Treatment). This process takes the pasteurizing temperature higher than the normal process. It creates a safer product for our customers.

Mono and Diglycerides?

Mono- and diglycerides are fats (oils) made from plant sources (soybean, cottonseed, sunflower or palm oil).

Nuts?

The plant that manufactures the chocolate crunch also manufactures other cookie products that contain nuts on the same line. There is no way of us knowing for sure that the chocolate crunch did not come into contact with peanuts and/or tree nuts, therefore the cakes may contain traces of peanuts. You can have a Carvel cake made without the crunchies by having it special ordered through a Carvel retail store.

Sherbet?

Sherbet does contain milk.

Soy?

      Soy is found in many of our products in the form of soybean oil, soy lecithin, and mono & diglycerides. Our Chocolate and Vanilla ice cream mix are soy free. Here is a list of items that do contain soy:

The sweeteners used in our ice cream are Lactitol, Acesulfame Potassium, and Aspartame. We do have a no sugar added vanilla ice cream.

Sugar Free?

We do not have a Sugar Free product. We do have a No Sugar Added Vanilla that our Carvel retail stores can make different flavors with.
